Frequently Asked Questions

  • -Our Mix and Match classes work by purchasing a package of classes, you can then attend which classes work with your families schedule each week. This means you do not have to register for a specific class. It also means you do not have to attend the same class each week. You can pick whichever classes work with your schedule as long as it’s age and level appropriate for your child. For example: if you purchase a four-class package, you could fulfill it by taking one class per week for four weeks, two classes per week for two weeks and they don’t need to be the same class.

  • -Nope! We curate the classes to fit each student's individual skill level.

  • For class attendance: Students should bring a labeled water bottle, comfortable clothing and shoes.

For camps: Students should bring a labeled lunchbox with snacks, a labeled water bottle, and comfortable clothing and shoes.

  • Our musical theatre camps are all about the stage. They include acting, singing, and dance technique. Students are assigned roles the first day of camp and work towards the end of week showcase for family and friends. In addition to lessons and rehearsal, students enjoy playing improv games and making a take home craft each day.

The showcase at the end of the week is approximately 15-20 mins in length and takes place at the end of the last day of camp. Each student has at least one line in the show.

-Roles are chosen by a simple audition on the first day of camp. They simply state their name, age, and two role preferences (which are explained by instructors), instructors will assign roles by the end of the first day. The audition is not based on skill level or experience. Instructors watch to see each students comfortability with speaking by themselves in front of others and they assign accordingly.

-Parents are asked to pack a snack or lunch to bring with them and we take two breaks during camp to eat.

-Costume purchase is not required, we encourage families to look in their closet, craft, or borrow.

  • -Yes! We have found that children who tend to be on the shy side benefit greatly from a musical theatre camp. We nurture the power of observation and don't push them to do anything they don't feel comfortable with. Most shy students end up gaining confidence and enjoy making new friends, and performing on stage by the end of camp.

  • -Once you have registered, you will get a confirmation email, after that, one week prior to camp start date is when you will receive a detailed information email pertaining to your specific camp. It will include performance information, zoom links, the waiver, and costume assignments.

  • -After registering, please email info@emergingartistsmta.com with the name of student, program, and location.
